Chirpy-Chirp-Chirp

Herrooooo! I'm super excited mainly because I'm finally on Spring Break!  Woo hoo!  I love my job as an educator but boy does it get hard.  Today I woke up wanting to make a card.  My sister asked me to make some baby shower cards, so I thought I would get that going.  The inspiration for this card came from the Lawn Fawn chirpy chirp chirp stamp set.  I love how that set could be used for many occasions other than Easter; it is very versatile. I have not purchased the stamp set yet, but will hopefully soon.   Majority of the SVG images came from Miss Kate Cuttables. I blended some inks to make a nice sky color and used a font called oldskool script.  :) hope you like it.

You're Flippin' Awesome!

I'm I've been eyeing this MFT stamp set since it came out in February but delayed buying it because I really didn't have many coloring mediums until recently.  I wanted this card to be colorful and bright; also I wanted to play with my watercolors :).  I purchased the kuretake tambi 3 weeks ago but hadn't had a chance to use it till now.  I was super excited not only to get the stamp set but use my watercolors.  I wanted to use the emboss resist technique.  However, I was struggling a bit with it.  The images where a bit too far apart which made it look too scattered :(.  I was about to trash my attempted but decided to save it while I thought about what could save it.  Took me a couple of days but I thought maybe if I put some Copic colored images on top of some of the emboss images it would bring the background back to life And it did!  I was super happy.  I also added some embossed hearts to fill in the empty space.  I'm not sure how they all ended up upside down.  Anywho, here is my card.

Guess who....

I made this card a couple of weeks ago but forgot to post a about it.  Treasure Box had an awesome freebie that I wanted to use (love their cuts). When this was posted I had to make a card from it. I thought it was an interesting image in that it's an owl coming out of its shell with bunny ears, seems a bit confusing at first but it was super cute.  I got the idea of it being in a basket like an Easter basket on a farm (I think when I saw the egg I was thinking farm).  So the setting is nice sunny farm day.  I thought the sentiment "guess who..." Would be appropriate because it's an owl hatching into a bunny so you're not expecting that, so guess who it is  Lol... I don't know,my thought process on this card was all over but love it!  I did some ink blending with Simon Says Stamp inks and well as distress inks.  I used stamps of life grass stamp to create more texture for the grass.  I uses an Miss Kate Cuttables for the barn.  Of course Lil owl bunny is from Tresure Box.   Anywho here is the card I made for easter.

Think Happy Be Happy...

Hello! I started this card a week ago when I was experimenting with my copics.  Ahh!  I'm still juiced about my Copics still.  I was telling my boyfriend how it was a meant to be situation.  I've been wanting copics for some time now and had an opportunity to purchase some on eBay at a decent price but that slipped by.  Then this past weekend I saw on a Facebook post that the artist supply store was having a sale! I jumped at the chance and boy was it a sale.  Anywho, I wanted to test my copics out and the only stamp image I have right now is Freckles by MFT stamps.  I wanted to practice coloring skins and ended up paper piecing half of the project.  Can't get away from that paper piecing. :D I left her on my table the whole week because I had other projects to work on and I honestly wasn't sure what to do with her.  I've been doing mainly scenes with my paper piecing so I didn't know if I wanted to create a scene with her.  Today I woke up, saw her on the table and decided I needed to do something with her.  Took some time to put it together but I like how it came out, especially how the colors worked out.  I made some last minute changes at the end because it look so one dimensional.  I took it apart and did some inking on it so the cardstock would pop a bit more and put it back together.  Well... Here it is.  :)

Home Sweet Home

My co-worker asked if I could make a card for her for a housewarming she has in a couple of weeks.  I was happy to create a card.  I asked her a couple questions before I got the idea in my head.  She told me her friend was younger and it was his first house, so quickly the idea of a bachelors pad and bbqing in the yard came to mind.  I think it came out well.  I've been toying with inks and paper piecing and combining them.  I saw on Amy R's YouTube how she inked cloud shapes onto white card stock to make her background.  I thought that would be a great idea for the background of my card.  I don't have a die cutting machine or dies so I improvised by creating my own cloud stencil with my cricut.  I welded overlapping circles to create a big cloud. I used the same technique as Amy R.  with my stencil.  I think it came out nice.  Here is my card :)
