I've been away from my craft room for the past week visiting my boyfriend in Northern California. This card I made two days before I left for the week. I bought the Incoming Mail stamp set by Mama Elephant two months ago, but was in the mist of doing all my Christmas cards that I did not have a chance to really think about using it. I finally was able to use it; I combined it with Simon Says Stamp die and sentiment set Sending Happy Thoughts.
It took me a while to work on this card because I was still in the Christmas card state of mind. I knew the elements I wanted to use but the actual layout was not coming easy. I copic colored the elements then used Strathmore watercolor paper to do a distress inked the background (dried marigold, mustard seed, salty ocean, blue print sketch and chipped sapphire). Once the distress background was done I used MFT basic boarder stitches (I used the X stitches) to put a boarder on the top and bottom of the background. For the sentiment, I use gold foil paper to die cut the Sending. After that I was stuck for a while, so I left it alone for the night. When I returned to finish it up the next night it only took me 15-20 mins to put it all together; I was super happy about that. Shows you the you have to be patient with the creative process. Anywho, here is the card.
